What to Bring
Place these items in the largest plastic ice chest
that your airline will allow. On your return you can
place your personal items in the plastic bags and
put them along with your hides into the ice chest
for shipping home. Most airlines allow two bags
(ice chest) along with one carry on item such as
your day pack. Check with your airline for latest
regulations.
Take one carry-on daypack with your choice of
snacks. Some of these items are available in
Koliganek but expect to pay triple due the
expense of flying them in.
Alaska hunt/trap license. You may purchase
and print it online at
http://www.adfg.state.ak.us/
A Ruger 10-22 mag is provided along with 150 rounds of ammo. We use
solid point bullets as hollow points tend to blow up prior to penetrating deep
enough to quickly and humanely harvest the wolf. Extra .22 mag ammo can
be purchased at our cost if you need it. Let us pray you get enough shooting
to need lots.
Firearms
If you prefer to bring your own firearm our suggestions are:
A semi auto shotgun with modified or open choke and lots of 00 Buck.
A mini-14 .223 without a scope.
Your own semi auto .22 mag.

In any case bring lots of ammo.

Alcohol.
Koliganek is not a dry village but no alcohol is sold there. It is best not to
bring it but if you feel strongly that you want a drink before bed alcohol in
plastic bottles is best for shipping in your luggage. Please do not offer a drink
to the local people. Please limit yourself to two drinks per night. A minimum of
eight hours without a drink is required to operate a snow machine or handle
a firearm.
Gloves, snowsuits, boots and
goggles are provided.
